Get involved

How to help the Amazon.

Understanding is where it starts — but it doesn't have to end there. Here are practical, honest ways to make a difference, and the organizations already doing the work on the ground.

What you can do

Five things that genuinely help.

None of these require you to be an expert. Small, consistent choices add up.

1

Learn & share

Understanding is the first step. Read, then pass it on — the more people who see the forest for what it is, the harder it is to ignore.

2

Support proven groups

Give to organizations with a real track record in the basin. Even small recurring gifts fund long-term work.

3

Choose deforestation-free

Much clearing is driven by beef, soy, and timber. Favor certified or deforestation-free products, and waste less.

4

Back Indigenous rights

Indigenous-managed lands are the forest's best-protected areas. Support the recognition and defense of their territories.

5

Travel responsibly

If you visit, choose community-based, low-impact ecotourism that returns money to the people who live there.

Where to give

Organizations doing the work.

A starting point, not an endorsement of any single group. Always check a charity's current standing and finances before you give.

A note on honesty: The Amazon Public Interest Network is an educational project — we do not collect donations or take a cut. Give directly to the organizations above, and verify each group's current standing before you give.
